BEDBUG FACTS
In recent years bedbug numbers have gone up between 100-500% in North America, in Europe and in parts of Asia and Australia.
There is much speculation about the reason
for this massive bed bug increase, one being that they have evolved resistance from the
normal pesticides that have previously
been used to kill bed bugs – including
the now-banned chemical DDT.
Chemical treatment is eventually effective
but takes up to 21 days to break the life
cycle of bedbugs because the chemicals
cannot kill their eggs. Wrongly linked to
poverty or poor hygiene, today's jet-setting
bed bugs travel on all airline classes,
in luggage, aircraft seats and clothes,
to wherever people sleep or rest.
CORCUR SOLUTION
A thorough and effective human inspection
and treatment to eradicate will take several
hours. It has been proven that canine bed
bug detection teams are exceedingly effective at detecting even a single bug at least 50 times faster than a human detector and more than three times as reliably when it
comes to identifying both live infestations
and even more importantly, early stage bed bug infestations.
Following the successful lead of companies
working in the worst affected areas in the
USA, our specialist bed bug dog handling teams will combine best practice with a discreet, professional service and will advise on the best course of action for your level of
infestation.
We know that the best defence against bed bug re-infestation is vigilance and regular
'sweeps' – as once an infestation has taken hold, it will be very costly and time-consuming to eradicate.
